PET PEEVE ONE

Walmart, 5:10pm. You're entering checkout seven. There are only two people in line. "Short line", you think to yourself, "Should be outa here in a minute ". Oh No!, "Price check from hardware, checkout seven" the cashier announces. Hardware is at the opposite end of the store, I'm changing lanes" you mutter to yourself. You head to checkout four. Three people are ahead of you but you think it's gotta be faster than waiting for a price check! "Oh no, that cashier has a cold, she's coughing mucus into her hand...she's handing out change! "All I need is a cold virus" you think. So you move on to checkout two where only one person is in line. "Sorry sir, but this lane is closing." the cashier announces as she places her sign in front of your goods. "Damn it, am I that unlucky, what else can go wrong." you curse to yourself. You head back reluctantly to checkout seven, where at least eight people have been served since you left, when an announcement is heard "Attention customers, due to technical problems all debit and credit card transactions cannot be made at this time, we apologize for the inconvenience". Your jaw drops to your chest as you realize you have no cash with you. Maybe you should by a lottery ticket!
